Linda Elling
August 2025
Linda is fascinated by the dichotomies in nature: Light vs Shadow, liquid vs solid and movement vs stillness. These differences are what draws her to a particular scene and what she strives to portray in order to infuse her paintings with visual interest and feeling.  "I want the viewer to feel as immersed as I do when I am painting nature."

When she captures a moment and a feeling of a particular space and time: she has succeeded.

Dorothy  Stonely
June 2025

Colors
Dorothy's  painting style is abstract or non-representational and her preferred medium is acrylic with an occasional piece done in a mixed media style.
Her primary subject is – color!   "I love the interplay of colors and the effect those colors have on our emotions.   My work usually begins by painting the 'bones' of the piece, the basic structure, in black.  Then the piece takes on a life of its own.  Colors are added and sometimes subtracted as the painting tells me what it wants.  "

Dorothy's work may be found at the Venture Gallery, 260 Alvarado St., in the Portola Plaza Hotel, Monterey, California.

Lawrence Harris
Jan. - 2025

Abstract Expressionism
Lawrence started doing art when he won an art prize as a child and continued with his father’s encouragement getting a BA from SFSU.

Lawrence is a  Salinas Valley Art Association member and serves on their board.

He started in the realist style copying the Renaissance Masters, but became enamored yet confused by modern abstract painting. But after studying modern art and Picasso for many years, an epiphany occurred. He’s never been the same since. Lawrence now journeys in the realms of stylization and abstraction. He attempts to fuse emotion with energy to create new fields of composition, shape, color and meaning.

Murray Wagnon
Oct. - 2024
Oil Landscapes and Still Lifes

.As a teenager, Murray explored the colony of Artists, Writers, and Musicians living in the houseboats along the waterfront of Sausalito. It was on one of those houseboats, shared by Alan Watts, and the Artist Jean Varda, that he first decided to be an artist. While watching Varda’s creative process, he was struck by the feeling that this was the most natural way for a man to live. It was during those years that he began to augment his formal education in the Arts by taking Creative Art workshops from local artists, and artisans as he continued his Art studies in High School and College.

Noah Gould
Jan. - 2024

Portrait demonstration
Noah has produced a large body of varied works, ranging from music, sculpture, conceptual art, drawings and paintings.

As a child he would often watch the people that surrounded him, including his parents, create things instead of simply buying things. They were builders of houses, they fixed their own vehicles, they were artists, musicians, they not only created things, but situations, culture. As Noah grew up, he took this sense of the importance of creativity with him to Los Angeles where he received his BFA from Otis College of Art and Design.

He also attended the MFA program at Parson, The New School for Design, during which time and afterward he maintained studios and close ties to those cities and the networks of cultural producers he formed relationships with on each coast.
