ANGELICA "ANGIE" ACEVES...
Since childhood Angie has created art, mostly pencil drawings then later other mediums. Her current medium of choice is oils and acrylics. Portraits and images show her traditions and culture. “It’s what I love to paint. As an Artist I am interested in capturing the beauty, emotions and soul of my subjects. My goal is to create a painting that attracts the viewer to it and brings old memories to life.” |
MARV ANDERSON.... OIL
Marv Anderson is a fourth generation Monterey County resident. He has a longstanding interest in the arts and early California painters. “I paint the back roads of Monterey County…what most people look at but never see…the beauty of back roads, mountains, and oak trees. I paint back country views that are slowly vanishing. I want people to feel they are part of the landscape.” In addition to being accepted in state and national shows, his work has been included in ten Monterey Arts Council Calendars. He was honored at the 2016 Champions of the Arts annual dinner. |
ARDITH BANUELOS... Pen & Inks with Watercolors
Ardith creates mixed media compositions using pen & inks finished with Watercolors. She sells both reproduction prints suitable for framing as well as stationery note cards. Subjects come from nature with butterflies and tropical fish providing the most inspiring designs and colors. |
JOHN CHAVEZ...
John expresses himself through various media including acrylics, watercolors, oil, pastels and digital art. He is currently pursuing an art degree to be followed by a teaching credential from San Jose State University. Elements of gesture and lines of force influence him strongly. He loves sharing the process of creating art with students of all ages. His art inspiration is prompted by interactions with people, objects, animals, places, but mostly through his emotional connection to the subjects. |
DONNA DAVENPORT... Watercolor and Acrylics
Donna’s love of the outdoors and animals grew from early experiences with family horses and other livestock. Her strong passion for art led her to numerous art classes. She won a scholarship in 1992 to study southwest Indians. This experience culminated in her creating a children’s book entitled “The Magic Water Jar”. She went on to earn a degree in Early Childhood Education and taught locally. Donna studied several mediums including water color and oils. She painted portraits of people and animals. More recently, she added landscapes and abstracts in varying mediums. |
ELSIE DILL.... Collage, Acrylics and mulit-media
Elsie Dill, native Californian, educated at San Jose State, has a family of 5 is grandma to 14 grandchildren, all art critics. She has been influenced by the late Charles Thomas of Carmel, the late Robert Wood of Green Valley, Greg Kondos of Sacramento and Robert Burridge of Arroyo Grande. Her mastery of composition, technique and palette produce excitement and interest in her pieces. She has received many awards throughout California. She is listed in the Who's Who of American Women and Women in the Arts. She is a full-time artist and maintains her studio in her Salinas home . |
MARY J. GARZA “CHAVEZ”…
Raised in the Salinas Valley, Mary is a native American Indian of the Chumash tribe. Her passion to paint was so strong, she would use sheetrock as chalk to draw on sidewalks, and an occasional wall. Family and a career spent as the owner of her own hair salon were early priorities. After attending an art class, she entered her first oil painting in a juried exhibition. The painting was accepted as one of 42 entrees out of 500 submitted. She continues to attend art classes perfecting her gift and talents. She is now an internationally known artist and her child hood dreams have been realized. |
GUNA HEBBAR...
"Art has been a lifelong passion and I have been drawing, painting or doing some types of art my entire life". Guna paints diverse subjects in various media in oil, water color, acrylic, charcoal and other media in both plein air and in her studio, portraying a variety of subjects such as landscapes, flowers, Indian folk-art paintings, sculptures, and yoga inspired art with her unique perspective. |
PATI HUGHES-FUDGE...
Pati is a former horse trainer and horse show judge who dabbled in oil painting about 10 year's ago with no former experience other than the desire to do it. A life threatening illness put her on hold for several years, until she started painting with Marvin Anderson about 6 years ago, and with his patience and guidance, had her first showing with SVAA last month. Also, she showed 5 paintings at the San Benito County Fair finishing with a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Hon.Mention. She received a liver transplant 2 year's ago and is back on track, and finding her way around the canvas! |
